CROCHET BASKET - Free Pattern

I had some leftover yarn after finishing my crochet hat, and that yarn turned into a small basket for my keys.

I decided to share the pattern with you and spent last night transcribing it into both English and Norwegian.

CROCHET HAT

Morning cereal and morning crochet <3

I love crochet hats, and the last time I visited my mom I left the house with two balls of yarn in brown and purple. The colors matched one of my jackets so I decided to crochet a hat to go with it.

Last year I designed a pattern for a hat, and since I have a lot going on right now I made the hat from that design. I love the colors and I´ve already used the hat twice. What do you think?

CROCHET HEADBAND - Crochet-A-Long (CAL) on Google+

Last night I made a crochet headband after being invited to a Crochet-A-Long (CAL). The other day I joined a group called Crochet Along on Google+ and this is where I got the invitation. I thought it would be a nice little project on the side, I could use a little break from my crochet afghan that I´m working on right now, so I found some leftover yarn and dived right in.

I didn´t make my crochet headband exactly like the headband in the CAL, I wanted it to look a little different. I also made another flower, a smaller one than the one they used in the CAL. I wrote down the pattern as I crocheted, and I will post it here on my blog next week. I´d like to do it earlier than that, but I´m going away for the weekend and I have a lot to do before that, so unfortunately there is no time. But early next week I´ll transcribe my notes (luckily I took some step-by-step photos of the process last night) and then you can make your own headband if you´d like. Or you can just go right ahead and make the one in the CAL :)

WIP - CROCHET DRESS

A couple of years ago I started on a personal project, a crochet dress for my self. The plan was to use it in a wedding, but I constantly changed my mind about how I wanted it to look like, that´s an ongoing problem when you make your own designs, and I didn´t want to finish it just to finish it, since I´d spent so much time on it allready. I knew that if I rushed it to get it done for the wedding, I might end up regretting the choices I made. So I ended up using another dress that I made several years ago instead, and put this dress on hold.

And that´s where it has been since that, on hold. :-P

I´ve crocheted more than 100 different parts, but I´m not sure how many I´m going to use. So far the upper part is allmost done, I have sewed the bodice from an old top/dress that I never used, and then I crocheted on top of the sewn piece. It´s the skirt that I can´t decide on, I´m going back and forth between slim and flowy, or something in between. And I´m not sure if I´m going to fill the entire skirt with crochet, or just parts of it. Hopefully I´ll decide eventually :-P

More than 100 different pieces. Some are made from diagrams I found on the internet and some are from my imagination.

I would love some feedback on the skirt though. What do you think would look the best, flowy or a slim skirt?

CROCHET BABY BLANKET - Purple & Gray

I designed this crochet baby blanket for some close friends of the family, when they had their first baby girl.
I didn´t want it to be too "girlish", so I chose purple and gray colors instead of pink.

CROCHET BABY OWL HAT

I designed this crochet baby owl hat when I found out that my brother was expecting his firstborn. There are dozens of owl hat patterns out there, but most of the time I prefer to make my own patterns (it gives me more of a challenge), and this is what came out of my hooks.

I also crocheted some socks to go with it. As you can see I made more crochet owl hats, these I made for my cousin´s twins.

And here´s my cute nephew wearing his owl hat. Isn´t he just adorable? <3

The crochet baby scarf is designed by me as well. I´m going to write a blog post about that some other time when I find my notes, because I´m going to transcribe it and post it as a free pattern here on my blog (be patient though).

MY NEW BLOG IS UP AND RUNNING

My new blog is finally up and running, at least a little bit. I still have some work to do, but it´ll do for now. I have another crochet blog in Norwegian, but since I opened up a Google+ account yesterday and wanted to link this blog to that channel, I had to make a new one. 

I justed posted the usual "About me" post, and for my second post I figured I could mention my YouTube-videos. I made some how-to-crochet-videos for beginners a while back, and I´ve posted them on my YouTube channel. Hopefully they can be of help to some people out there.

So far they don´t have any sound, but that will come, eventually. I just bought a new web camera, so I´ll start filming more videos soon.

Here´s a video I made recently, "presenting" my channel. I´ll replace it when I get the time to make another one, since it´s not really good at all :P But it´ll have to do for now as well. The photos in the videos are my own designs.

I will try to post frequently here on my new and shiny crochet blog, so I hope you´ll come back and check it out again.
